We’re Danny and Jess.
We’ve been coming to Nelson Lake for more than twenty years. Long before DJ’S Dockside was ours, this was the place we came to reconnect, spend time together, and make memories with our family.
Over the years, we watched people fall in love with this lake the same way we did. The quiet mornings. Long afternoons on the water. Campfires, fish fries, boat rides, live music, and the feeling that somehow time moves differently here.
When the opportunity came to take over the resort, we knew exactly what this place could become. Not just somewhere to stay, but a true Northwoods destination built around memorable food, genuine hospitality, and where people slow down, reconnect, and leave feeling better than when they arrived.
Danny brings years of culinary experience from professional kitchens in Paris, New York, Disney, and the Crowne Plaza into every part of the restaurant. Jess leads the guest experience, atmosphere, and day-to-day operations, helping create the kind of place that feels welcoming from the moment you arrive.
Together, we’re building the kind of resort we always wished existed on Nelson Lake.
